Why Extensions
What are pre glued extensions?

Women have been wearing human hair extensions since the times of Cleopatra. Formally, for only the rich and famous, human hair extensions can now be worn by us all. Hair extensions, as their name suggests, are pieces of hair added to your own natural hair, giving it added volume and or length, even changing its style, and or color. There are a few different ways this can be done.
Hair extensions are available in many different colors, textures, styles, and lengths. A skilled stylist can help you choose hair extensions. They are virtually indistinguishable from your own hair. However, if you have been wearing hair extensions for a while you might want to purchase a fusion tool and take on this task yourself, or you may just purchase your extensions and have your stylist put them on for you. This allows you to control where your hair comes from and to make sure that you know you are getting what you pay for.
Hair extensions can be applied in a couple of ways. Fusion and Micro Links being the two most popular and safest methods. Wefts are popular with women that have kinky hair as the hair can easily be braided into rows with the wefts then sewn onto each row of hair. Great for kinky hair but if you are a white girl or black girl without kinky hair do not let yourself get talked into this method. Many stylist only use this method and therefor sell you on it as it is the only method they may know. It is very, very damaging to your hair. Fusion, also known as strand by strand, attaches to your own hair in rows using a bonding substance called keratin. Keratin is the natural protein found in our hair and is very safe to use for attachments. Micro Links uses little plastic or copper tubes that hold the extensions in place similar to fusion but without the heat. Fusion is far easier to do by ones self.
Each process takes several hours and about 150 pieces, or 6 ounces, to do a full application. Both of these methods will last 3-6 months depending on your hair growth rate. Please be careful though not to leave them in too long and damage your own hair as I have done personally and always use a loop brush to keep your own hair from entwining with the extension hair. I think 3-4 months is long enough, any longer then that it is really hard to get them out after they dread lock. The farther down your natural hair grows, along with the shedded discarded hairs, the more likely it is to tangle with the extensions and get a dread lock effect.
Human hair extensions are safe, fun, and instant gratification for those of us who can't wait 5 long years to grow out that dreaded bad idea we had to run down to the salon and get that short cropped, choppy hair cut that looks oh-so-good on Sharon Stone. What the hell were we thinking?????
This is me with my crappy hair cut....cute but still
crappy and me after with a full head of extensions.
